3D Fanart of Snake Plissken from the movie Escape From New York which I managed to create over the course of the year.
I initially created a version of Snake back in 2018 for a game project I was involved in during my 2nd year of University, and it was one of my first characters that I created in 3D. I wanted to see how far I've come since then, so I recreated Snake Plissken's character with the knowledge/skills I currently possess.
All the base details were sculpted in ZBrush, then brought over to 3D-Coat/Blender for Retopology. I used Marvelous Designer to create the garments such as Jacket, Vest and Trousers and then imported into ZBrush to refine it. I also used a little bit of Mari for projecting details onto the character, although I used this software solely to experiment this work process. I used Substance Designer for the hair details and the Trouser Camouflage pattern. I then used Substance Painter to texture and Blender to Rig the bones/animate the posture. I finally used Marmoset Toolbag 4 to render the character.
This was most definitely the most challenging character that I've done so far, and even knowing this I still feel like there's so much to improve on which in turn is definitely a reassuring thought as I can develop my next character even further.
